Founded in 2011 by Lawrence Coppen, the business was established following the successful sale of his shares in a Plant and Tool company originally founded in 1988. The Taray Group initially operated as a property and finance brokerage, facilitating over £20 million in funding for private clients.

In 2017, the company transitioned into residential development, acquiring its first site on Cuthbert Bank Road, Sheffield. This project delivered a 45-bedroom apartment scheme, now known as Bamford Point, which remains under the Group's ownership and management, providing rental accommodation to private tenants.

Since then, The Taray Group has expanded its portfolio, acquiring, developing, and delivering multiple residential schemes across Kent, Surrey, West Yorkshire, and West Suffolk. These developments have been successfully completed and sold to end users, further establishing the company's reputation within the residential sector.
